Charleston, SC – ECPI University Charleston is partnering with Community’s Hope Impact Center for a two-day STEM event encouraging local youth interested in future careers in cybersecurity or software development.
Led by ECPI University Computer and Information Science (CIS) students and CIS Program Director Ed Smalls, participants will receive fun, hands-on instruction in computer configuration over two, three-hour sessions. Any middle or high school-aged student is welcome to attend the July 28th and 29th sessions.
The two-day schedule is as follows:
- Thursday July 28, 2022 from 2:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. - Students will learn about networking, building a computer, gaming and hacking.
- Friday, July 29, 2022 from 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. - Students will discover what it takes to plan and design computer networks, including cloud computer networks, and how to protect their system (security).
Both events will be held at Community’s Hope Impact Center, located at 212 Cooper Street, Moncks Corner, SC 29461. They are free and open to the public.
