Virginia Beach, VA – ECPI University is now issuing its own digital vaccination certificate (“VAX PASS”) to easily identify those that are fully vaccinated. The VAX PASS will permit students and staff to quickly move past screening stations and access facilities and elevators at higher occupancies in anticipation of not wearing masks on campus.
“We have a portal for students to upload their vaccination proof, and that will quickly trigger the issuance of a digital VAX PASS in the University’s mobile app as well as a verifiable certificate on Blockchain, says ECPI University’s Chief Information Officer Jeff Arthur.
Blockchain is a type of database in which information is stored, then linked together in a manner which make it virtually un-hackable. ECPI University has already issued more than 2,500 VAX PASS certificates and expects that to increase to 10,000 over the summer as more students get vaccinated.
“We are also expecting vaccination clinics on campus as supplies permit,” says ECPI University Chief Operating Officer Barbara Larar. “We have more than 3,000 nursing students, most of whom were required to be vaccinated to participate in required clinical experiences.”
