Virginia Beach, VA – In a targeted response to the acute workforce shortages in the Tech and Nursing sectors throughout the Southeast, ECPI University will hold a comprehensive Open House on Saturday, August 5, 2023, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
This strategic event is designed to encourage a diverse set of potential students - including first-generation college students, career switchers, active-duty military personnel, and recent veterans - to explore and consider a future in the high-demand fields of technology and healthcare. Since its establishment in 1966, ECPI University has remained committed to bridging the workforce gap by providing academic programs closely aligned with industry needs.
"Beyond introducing potential students to our educational offerings, this Open House is a direct response to the workforce shortages we are currently facing,” said ECPI University President Mark Dreyfus. “Our experienced faculty and comprehensive support systems are prepared to assist attendees in taking the first steps towards considering a career in these critical sectors.”

Meet 2021 ECPI University graduate, Tim Trotter. Tim attended our Richmond-Innsbrook campus where he completed his Bachelor of Science in Computer & Information Science, Cyber and Information Security degree.
With a last name like Threat, it seems only natural that Tranika Threat would pursue a career in the cybersecurity field.
Born and raised in Virginia Beach and Suffolk, young Tranika wasn’t thinking about computers, instead she had a unique love of playing football, especially with her cousins. She even thought of becoming a professional football player, and worked to hone her skills as a strategist.
“The Campus President and the instructors made sure I had as much flexibility as I needed.”
Today we are featuring 2016 Criminal Justice graduate, Brittany Todd.
Brittany’s motivation for pursuing her bachelor’s degree was to carry on her family tradition of working in law and military, as she comes from a long line of personnel in these fields.
