Matt Bednarski is an ECPI University graduate times two, completing both his bachelor’s degree in Computer & Network Security (June 2020) and master’s degree in Cyber Operations (December 2021) at the Virginia Beach campus.
Matt’s pursuit of higher education stemmed from his desire to continually seek out new challenges and growth opportunities. He was drawn to ECPI due to its hands-on learning approach and expedited program duration.
“ECPI’s focus on practical knowledge and skills was something I found appealing,” said Matt. “I wanted to learn skills that I could apply immediately in the workforce.”
As a full-time student, employee, and family man, Matt had to dig deep to earn his degrees. There were times when Matt felt stretched thin, but his support network helped him persevere. Matt credits his ECPI instructors and wife for encouraging his progress towards his career education goals.
Matt currently works at Tanium as a Technical Account Manager where he provides IT consultation services to clients. “I enjoy working with clients and helping them solve problems that are impacting their business. It is very rewarding to see the positive impact of my work on their operations.”
According to Matt, current and prospective students need to remain focused and dedicated to their goals if they want to be successful. “Take advantage of the hands-on labs, network with your peers and instructors, and always strive to improve your skills,” he says. “Treat your studies as if it is a full-time job and you NEED that job.”
