Meet 2021 ECPI University graduate, Tim Trotter. Tim attended our Richmond-Innsbrook campus where he completed his Bachelor of Science in Computer & Information Science, Cyber and Information Security degree.

Tim had always been tech-savvy, but it wasn't until the pandemic hit that he realized he wanted to pursue a career in IT. After being furloughed from his previous job, Tim took the time to think about his future and decided that cybersecurity was the way to go. That's when he discovered ECPI University. He did some research and digging, found testimonials of graduates who have completed their degree at ECPI, and wanted to move forward in the process. Now he is one of those testimonials.

Tim chose ECPI because of their innovative Bachelor to Bachelor (B2B) program that allowed him to skip his general education courses and focus solely on his major.

Despite facing financial troubles and juggling a full-time job, Tim was determined to complete his degree. With the help of his professors and classmates, Tim overcame these challenges and found his favorite part of attending ECPI was the hands-on experience he received with access to the school's hardware and software resources.

Tim is currently working in his field of study as a Systems Administrator for an engineering firm where he manages the help desk and active directory. When asked what advice he would give to ECPI students, Tim emphasized trusting the process and putting in the time to complete assignments. "Your professors won't let you fail, and your classmates are there for you as well," he said. "There is no need to induce any additional stress on yourself. If you put in the time to finish your assignments, you will succeed."
