MSCS675 AI/Machine Learning and Cybersecurity

This course gives hands-on practice using artificial intelligence in cybersecurity. Students will analyze real network captures and apply machine-learning models to spot unusual activity and determine risk. Large language models (LLMs) support research—helping brainstorm questions, summarize sources, and explain results—while students verify all facts with trusted references. Content maps to NIST principles and CISSP domains and aligns with NSA/CAE academic outcomes. By the end, learners can connect AI methods to practical threat detection tasks.
