Let's Make 2024 The Year of Reviews

Reviews hold a significant role in the digital age, serving as a powerful conduit for connecting with the public. Reviews also offer invaluable insights and feedback, aiding potential students in making well-informed choices. For ECPI University, reviews are of particular importance, as they provide a glimpse into the exceptional student experience and the quality of education we deliver.

Why Reviews are Essential

As you know, reviews wield considerable influence over the decision-making process of prospective students. When prospective students read about the positive encounters of their peers, it instills trust and confidence in our institution. Positive reviews can also attract students whose college and career aspirations align with our programs and values.

It's also crucial to acknowledge the challenges negative reviews can pose. Here’s a little research about reviews done by Inc. Magazine*:

  • The math of a bad review: For every one-star review, a company must receive four five-star reviews if they want to maintain a four-star average.
  • Negative experiences get around: Customers who have had a negative experience are often more likely to leave negative reviews.
  • Good reviews don't always get written: Approximately one out of 10 happy customers leave a positive review after a good experience with a brand.
  • Not great odds: It can take 40 positive customer experiences to offset one negative online review. (Yikes!)

Encouraging Reviews This Year

Each staff member who interacts with our students plays a pivotal role in shaping their experiences. Those are the stories that showcase how ECPI University changes lives through education.

In 2024, let’s take that extra step to encourage positive online reviews. If research suggests that countering the impact of a single negative review may require such a large number of positive ones, then each campus should make it a priority for the positive experiences of our students to be adequately represented. Work with your teams to set a goal to increase positive reviews. By making the request for reviews to our students, graduates, and employer partners, we can empower our entire ECPI University community to contribute to its ongoing success.
