Technology Jobs coming to Raleigh, NC
San Francisco-based technology company WalkMe has opened a new office in Raleigh. It only has 10 employees now, but company officials say that will change very fast. In fact, they estimate the tech start-up will hire 50 people by the end of the year and hundreds more within the next several years.
WalkMe develops online user prompts and screen instructions that help companies connect with customers. This new office will serve as a global center of excellence for the software company’s app business. Founded just five years ago, this Silicon Valley tech firm has already raised more than $50 million in start-up capital and has more than 1,000 customers, including Adobe, PayPal, Cisco, Citrix, MasterCard, Pandora, Virgin, and 3M.
WalkMe plans to offer its new app initiative free to independent developers, while the company would be paid from licensing fees and the amount of users that engage with the technology. WalkMe also has offices in San Francisco, New York, Sidney, Australia and Tel Aviv, Israel. Company officials say opportunities for talent recruitment is one of the big reasons why WalkMe chose Raleigh. That belief is echoed by many companies throughout the region.
Workflow automation software company inMotionNow has just announced that it has raised $3.1 million in new funding and anticipates hiring between 20 and 25 new employees by the end of the year. Based just outside Raleigh in Morrisville, its cloud-based software is typically used by marketing departments and advertising agencies to track and manage creative projects such as TV commercials or social media campaigns. Among its clients, the company lists NASDAQ, Nationwide Insurance, DuPont, CarMax, and the Los Angeles Dodgers.
