General Duties for IT Managers

- Maintain the network. Software updates, upgrades, and troubleshooting are some of the most important functions of an IT manager. These actions are integral to protecting the network from financially catastrophic failures and slowdowns.
- Secure the network. More than just downloading virus software, network security by itself can be a full-time job. Securing a network includes vetting employees for access to secure or confidential information, protecting information from outside threats like hackers, and monitoring employee use of internet-connected company equipment.
