International Cloud Computing Company Coming to Northern Virginia

ECPI University Graduates Ideal Match for New Workforce

French-based OVH has announced plans to invest $47 million in its first American data center. The world’s third largest cloud computing company, it will build its facility – which will include its North America headquarters – in Fauquier County, Virginia, just outside Washington DC. OVH will create approximately 54 new jobs. Some of these positions will be in cyber and network security, used to support the cloud computing.

“OVH’s decision to establish its North American headquarters in Virginia further solidifies the commonwealth’s global standing as the top player in the flourishing data center sector,” Gov. McAuliffe said in a Fauquier Now news report. “Thanks to our critical IT infrastructure and skilled workforce, Fauquier County will be home to one of the most elite cloud providers around the globe.”

Fauquier Economic Development Director Miles Friedman says OVH wants to primarily hire local residents. What’s more, he says OVH’s investment in Fauquier County could triple during the next five years, resulting in dozens of additional jobs. That could bode well for ECPI University alumni and soon-to-be graduates at the nearby Northern Virginia campus in Manassas, as well as our online students and graduates.
