Columbia SC, ECPI University Student Receives First IT-oLogy Scholarship
ECPI University offers a number of different degrees programs, all with hands-on coursework. Our Database Programming degree program includes not only hands-on work but the courses are geared towards learning proficiency in programming languages, knowledge of application software and operating systems, and even database design and scripting.
Database Programming student Errol Washington has received the first of twelve $6,000 scholarships being awarded by IT-oLogy, a nonprofit collaboration of businesses, academic institutions, and organizations dedicated to growing the IT talent pipeline, fostering economic development, and advancing the IT profession.
A native of New Orleans, Errol relocated to South Carolina at the end of 2005 as a result of Hurricane Katrina. After working a couple different jobs, he decided he needed to pursue an education. He chose ECPI University and completed his degree in Network Security and has now returned to continue his studies in Database Programming.
Congratulations Errol, you are an outstanding example of determination and dedication to learning!
