- OM – Organizational Management may be what your company requires. It is a leadership process that effectively uses resources (mainly people) and assets (usually people). A solutions-oriented approach to issue resolution is used to reach your company’s goals.
- PM – Perception Management combines DM and OM to create visibility within your organization. In a startup, you don’t have to worry about PM “because everyone sees your work,” says businessman Chander Chawla. PM is about how others (your customers and competitors) see you or perceive you as a manager. It’s important to effectively manage your domain and resources, but managing your image is critical.
- FM – Feelings Management is good, old-fashioned respect and tact. It’s communicating in such a way that encourages feedback and ideas. Today’s younger workforce is more feelings-oriented, says Chawla.
All four categories can (should) be managed in parallel, but not equally. A lot depends on the maturity of your company, your title, and your function within the organization.

- Creativity – When you are willing to explore options and “think outside of the box,” you’re a creative person. You’ll see possibilities when others see complications.
